Counseling Services

Before we talk about how we work together, it helps to know if we’re a good fit. I specialize in:

Depression · Anxiety · Trauma & PTSD · Identity exploration · LGBTQIA+ concerns · Life transitions · Grief · Self-worth & perfectionism · Climbers & outdoor athletes

I offer individual therapy in person at my Denver office and via telehealth for adults anywhere in Colorado.

Sessions are tailored to you — your history, your nervous system, your goals. I draw on a range of modalities depending on what will be most useful, including:

  • Sometimes talking about something over and over doesn’t make it hurt less. EMDR is a different kind of therapy — one that works directly with how your brain and body hold onto difficult experiences, helping to loosen their grip so you can actually move forward. I use EMDR with clients working through trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and the weight of things that happened long ago but still feel very present.

  • Have you ever felt like part of you wants to change, but another part keeps getting in the way? That’s not weakness — that’s just how people work. Parts work helps us get curious about those inner conflicts rather than fighting them, so we can understand what each part of you really needs and help them work together.

  • You might notice that stress lives somewhere in your body — a tight chest, a clenched jaw, a heaviness you can’t quite explain. Somatic therapy pays attention to those signals. Rather than only working with thoughts and words, we include the body as a source of information and healing. This is especially helpful for people who feel like they’ve understood their trauma intellectually but still can’t seem to shake it.

  • Sometimes the best thinking happens when you’re moving. Walk & talk therapy takes our sessions outside — along Denver’s parks and trails or into the broader Front Range — for clients who find that being in nature helps them open up, slow down, or simply breathe a little easier.

Research increasingly supports what many of us already know intuitively: time in nature reduces stress, regulates the nervous system, and creates conditions for insight. If the idea of sitting across from a therapist in an office doesn’t feel like you, this might be worth exploring.

Payment

Rate for individual sessions: $150

I do not accept insurance directly. However, I can provide a superbill after each session, which you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. I recommend calling your provider ahead of time to ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits.

PAYMENT FAQs:

  • I accept payment via credit card and HSA/FSA cards.

  • Remaining out-of-network allows me to provide care that’s personalized and not constrained by insurance requirements — things like session caps, diagnosis requirements, or limits on how we structure our work together. It means we can focus on depth, pacing, and what’s actually right for you.

  • A superbill is a detailed receipt that includes the information your insurance provider needs to consider reimbursement for out-of-network therapy. You submit it directly to your insurance company, and they determine your reimbursement based on your plan.

  • I hold several slots for clients who require a sliding scale payment model based on income. Call or email to ask about sliding scale availability.
